3ddesktop problem.


mandrake 10.0.

i have installed 3ddesktop.When i run that first time it workes well.It shows the 3d view of my KDE 3.3 desktop.but run after some time there was a problem now.
i am windering that it wokrd first time how??i looked in google and previous thread all taking about hardware issue?then how it worked first time for me.

Maybe 3ddeskd server not started?

pls note it worked me for fist time when launch a command.

what's your graphic card? it's clear that you need hardwar3e acceleration, so install NVIDIA's or ATI's drivers...

those packages are available in my cdrom or in internet server's.and which one i have to install either NVIDIA or ATI i do not know much about them.
then can u pls tell me the package name for download.

hi, your card doesn't have hardware acceleration drivers for linux, but there is a project called DRI(dri.sf.net) which enables hardware acceleration for your card,

i downloaded this file ati-driver-installer-8.16.20-i386.run
when i install this i had an error.

[root@localhost fglrx]# cat fglrx-install.log
[Message] Kernel Module : Trying to install a precompiled kernel module.
[Message] Kernel Module : Precompiled kernel module version mismatched.
[Error] Kernel Module : No kernel module build environment - please consult readme.
[root@localhost fglrx]#

your card isn't ATI nor NVIDIA try dri.sf.net

what about sis650 chipset?

I get the same error, I cant find much about this chipset, what i have found seems to suggest that it supports it.
