2008 One Adobe Flashplayer no audio

I am running Mandriva One 2008
Semperon XP 3300
GeForce 4 MX
Soundblaster PCI 128

I am having trouble with Adobe flash playing audio. I have audio in all other programs. I tried to install libflashplayer.so like you had to for 2007.1 free but have had no luck. I was hoping if anyone could help me shed some light on this problem.

can you supply a link to a site that uses sound that used to work for you?

2) I have Mdv 2008 but I use Opera and not fox, however you may have a broken link or no link to your browser. Have you tried to download and install flashplayer
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...h&promoid=BIOW

I suggest you use the tar gz file.

3) /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins maybe the area you should look for 2 files.
flashplayer*
libflashplayer*

if not there flash no workee.

Just to clarify I have never had audio with flashplayer on Mandriva 2008 One. I lost flash audio when I upgraded from 2007.1 free, and as you know flash had to be fixed on that distro.

On the old distro every website with audio alone, or streaming video always functioned. I used to have audio on i.e. UFC.com when viewing the video, now I just have the video. I don't even get the music on myspace. However audio on Amarok and Kaffine etc works just fine.

I took your advice and installed the tar.gz of Flashplayer and no luck. I did notice that libflashplayer.so was updated to the newer version from the download. /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins however does not have any flashplayer* file.

Could it be forced by finding that file and copying it to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins?

1) at ufc...I clicked on multimedia then click on top item with face and rh description
TUF Finale: Roger Huerta on his biggest test yet

a popup window opened and I got sound and movie of Conan....my sound was a little stilted but still ok

2) If you kept that download just move with root powers the missing file into your plugins folder and retry the site.

oops I use Opera but just noticed a second folder (its a hidden dot folder)
/home/your name/.mozilla/plugins

so no harm to stick both files into both folders then retry....move one out to see which one breaks then you are good for any future updating eh?

3) if you can not remember where you unpacked, try command

su (and root passwd)
find / -name flashplayer*

flashplayer.xpt is in usr/lib/mozilla plugins
so is libflashplayer.so

I still cannot get it to function. Maybe I ought to downgrade to 2008 free then wrestle with nVidia vs wrestle with flashplayer here

yes well I am asking you b4 you do that.....use Konqueror...view hidden files....locate your .mozilla folder and copy those files into the subfolder for plugins.

make sure fox is closed then re-open and retry your site pls?

2) I doubt that this is solved by a different distro version or distro or graphics ....its simply whether your browser finds a plugin and uses it.
