2.6.8 freezes for a while on boot

hi. how to configure lilo or kernel 2.6.8 from mdk10.1 to do not freeze for a time on my laptop IBM r50e Thinkpad.
"a time" it means = 1 - 2 minutes after that it's all right

Boot the system in INTERACTIVE mode (I) and see what is taking so long by running each process individually.

When you get to the one that seems to time out for a while you've found the culprit.

I'll bet it's your network or USB port though.

hmm

it does not write any error or warning. just freeze in time when:
no interactive start .. ==> here is 3 minutes idle
starting udev ..
... goes ok

Udev handles hot pluggable devices.

Did you or do you have anything like a USB card reader, USB hard drive, Scsi hard drive or other semi-removable device?

What kernel parameters are being passed to the installed kernel?

e.g. what does /etc/lilo.conf look like?
