10 Half Duplex Settings in Mandy 9.2

Sorry for X-Posting this Just found this forum.

Hi and Greetz,

I have a question I can't seem to find a clear answer on how to achieve.. I have a D-link DFE-530tx+ NIC. Beautiful card even comes with Linux Drivers.. However Mandrake 9.2 properly identified the card and set it up, the problem however exists, that my * CRUDDY A$$ * Router is a BIG piece of JUNK and I need to change the Settings to ( Link Speed / Duplex Mode : 10 Half Duplex.. I can only assume that Mandrake is also doing what windoze was doing and running the CARD in AUTO mode.. I have to turn this back or No Internet.

Any help?

Thanks In Advance

You should check 'man ifconfig' and specially 'media type' section. I'm not sure but i think it was something like 10baseT you should include in ifconfig command.

Don't nkow if this will work for you, but it works for my 3Com cards, and linksys router with some bad ports:
as root type:

mii-tool -A 10baseT-HD

Will that permanently set the 10 half duplex.. or will I have to set it by hand manual each time.

Don't know if mandy uses /etc/rc.d/rcX.d/S99local but if it does then you can add that line in here and it will do it everytime you boot.

type runlevel to find out what level you are running at. Then add that line to either rc3.d/S99local or rc5.d/S99local which ever fits your setup.

It will be the last thing to be done when your computer boots up.
