Red face 10.1 and thinkpad - which kernel to choose

hi.
i'm sorry for my question. It's too late here.
I have noticed, that some mandrake kernel from 10.1 is doing problems on notebook. I have on plane to reinstall old 10.0 powerpack by 10.1 powerpack in the morning. So i want to know, how to avoid problems.
If 2.6.8 will not boot, when and where to write "noacpi" or "acpi=off" or ... .
My laptop is thinkpad r50e.
thanx.

During the first screen that pops up you get a choice to press <F1> or <Enter>. Select <F1> and read the info.
On the Boot: prompt enter "linux noacpi"

>> During the first screen <<
it means there is need to insert install CD, DVD in drive?
On normal startup to lilo there is no choice F1 or ENTER. Only from install media.

Well you said you'd install 10.1 so I assumed you meant "if it doesn't work during install"
If it won't boot after install press <Esc> to get down to the lilo boot prompt and enter it there.
If that works edit /etc/lilo.conf and enter
Code:
append="noacpi"
or whatever to the relevant section. Don't forget to run 'lilo'.
