10.0 installs w/o webmin - Go get it - a serious answer for newbs with network issues

Having finally got 10.0 up and running, I tried to find the one program noone ever told me about and was the answer to so many problems in one place

WEBMIN -the god of all networking programs -

So I installed it via the software installer and it was like a light coming on in the dark.

Why it is not installed by default, I have no idea

Seriously, every newbie with a network issue should spend time in this program - it is just the best

Good for you

But when I'm trying to install webmin using drakrpm I get an error telling me that a file is missing and that the installation is "unsuccessful"
I'm using MD10.0 official
Will try to find some other way to install it.

Set up your URPMI sources PROPERLY.

Follow the instructions for 9.x at http://www.zebulon.org.uk

Then as root

urpmi webmin

and all of the missing items will be installed for you.

Webmin also likes the presence of many servers, so don't be surprized of some of the modules report back that the target software is not installed.

If you wish you can always

urpmi SOFTWARE

to install it if needed.

Thumbs up Thanx for the help

Thank you for helping me out here
I'm using Drakrpm and I have the installation disks that comes with the MD distribution 10.0 official as sources.
I tried the http://urpmi.org link I found on http://www.zebulon.org.uk you refered to but it seems to be down for the moment. But if I got it right so is drakrpm using urpmi?
Anyway, I went in to www.webmin.com and downloaded the RPM I found and then I installed it using midnight commander (mc), another wounderful program.
I suppose urpmi webmin would have done the same for me.
So now I got it up and running.

Zebulon is up.

It may have been down when you tried, try again.

Anyway it's best to use the Mandrake Specific RPM's when possible as these are usually customized to integrate well with all of the other Mandrake software.

The Contrib and PLF repositories round out the entire grouping, providing RPM's for almost every common Linux program.
