10.0 and star office


Guys
I just installed 10.0 ce on my dell latittude c640 , superfast though lacking some software
I have the star office disk I installed it as myself and it doesnt show up in the start menu
I installed it as root and put it in the /usr/bin direcctory , it still doesnt show up when installing as root where should I put it so that it shows up in the start menu .
Also when i try to install the java run time from the sun disk it tells me there is no terminal available and it cannot proceed ? any help would be great

Did you check the install options to ensure that you installed it for everyone?

There should be an option to do a network install - OpenOffice.org has it and OOo is from StarOffice so I would imagine that it's very similar. The network install installs for all users.

i have it on suse 9.0 and 9.1 as well as fedora I had no problem i can get to it by doing the run command and typing soffice but id rather it in the menu and as a shortcut on the desktop also why would it not install java?
