I would like to display some of my logs using karamba on my desktop. I have gone and given my everyday user rights to see those logs but something in madrake in reversing thos changes and after a couple of minuste I can't see those logs anymore....

How can I make tose changes stick?

On the desktop "window"?

There is a program called roottail or something like that which will display the output.

I'm not running 10.1 (still on 9.2), but I am guessing this particular item would be handled very much the same. I wanted basically the same thing when I switch to Fluxbox -- I am using roottail to show a couple of my system logs on the desktop...

Start the Mandrake Control Center, select 'Security', select 'DrakPerm' and then tweak the file permissions for the desired log files to include read permission for the appropriate user population.

This being Linux, there are likely other (and perhaps better, from a security standpoint) ways of accomplishing this, but it should work.
