Question 'Slow' javascript reaction on Mandrake 10.0 official

Hi there,

first of all an apology for my brutally bad English (hope it can be understood).

Using different Linux distros (SuSE, Slackware, Yoper, FedoraCore and Mandrake) I'm facing the following problem with the Mandrake (10.0 official) one:

When surfing the internet with mozilla's Firefox it is sometimes necessary to activate javascript (especially to install Firefox-extensions or -themes). While in the other distros this is no problem, clicking on such Links in the Mandrake-surrounding leads to absolutely nothing at first. Up to 20 min later the Firefox message window opens to ask if the chosen extension or theme is really to be installed. So, another click on YES/OK and - nothing happens again.

Do you have any reasonable explanation for this? How can it be that javascript-actions (like the ones described above) in a Mandrake-surrounding take minutes and minutes (if anything happens at all) while in other distros (with the same browser) the chosen Links react immediately?

Thanks in advance!

snoopydoo, your English is very good. You may know that the 1.0 release of Firefox is due tomorrow. You may just want to wait for Mandrake packages to appear, and then install those instead of the ones you've got. Maybe this will solve your problem.

HTH,

Smile Thank you...

Thanks a lot (for your indulgence as well as for your advice)! I'll try.
