Skype has to re open to have Sound


I installed the latest .rpm for Skype on Mageia 4, I have to quit Skype and reopen in order to have sound.

Any ideas?

yes.
is skype autostarting? maybe you should add a delay there, like

(sleep 10 && skype) &
also depends on your sound architecture (pure alsa? alsa and pulse?) and what else is running that uses sound.

Yes Skype is auto starting at system startup. Where do I add this "(sleep 10 && skype) & " you suggest?

I'm using the default Pulse.

Dear ondoho
Sorry to say that your script other than delaying Skype to open for 10 seconds didn't solve the problem of having to quit and reopen.

This may be a bug in the latest version. I have no idea, perhaps someone can advise.

You could try to kill pulseaudio and then relaunch Skype.
