Good to see it finally came to pass, but...

I lobbied hard for this forum here. Waited, lobbied hard again, and even had a couple of exchanges w/Jeremy.

We both wondered why it seemed to just fall off the truck and when I approached Ennael one more time prior to the implosion of Marcom the only answer I got from her was, "

Quote:

I'm still waiting for names for this forums
I asked Patricia what Anne meant by that, and she undertook finding out. We never heard anything back.

Time went by, and apparently this forum was bootstrapped, although there was never any notice of it on the marcom mailing list, which continued until the attache' group was created in late June 2012.

Well, as disappointed as I was, maybe still am, I am glad that the Mageia forum here at LQ finally came to pass, although my efforts and interests have shifted elsewhere as a result of many things that just didn't happen - not that many of us didn't try before just going dormant.

I do offer Mageia as an OS option for my VPS services still. It's a good distro, but aside from a few folks that subscribe and deploy Mageia VPS systems under my KVM, Xen, and VMware Cloud services, there's still no one I've seen from Mageia itself using it - and one of the reasons I made that available as one of the subscription offerings as an OS was not just because of my involvement w/Mageia from it's founding days, but because Mageia VPS offerings were repeatedly requested by members of the various Mageia teams.

I was really looking forward to this forum being launched and promoting the distro's support here in my continuing evangelizing of Mageia, but Oh well, like I said, I'm glad Mageia finally got its own forum here at LQ, and it seems there are already two official support personnel for it anyway, so best wishes and good luck :)

Kindest regards,

.

What are you talking about? Don't you think you should have better mailed on this marcom mailing-list instead of here where people have nothing to do about all this? And finally this forum is up? Why are you arguing ? We are looking for contributers if you have time :)

the usual reason it takes a while for a separate forum for a distro to be created is the amount of relevant posts to happen to justify it. And having been here for about 8 years now it is a question that comes up from time to time.
