Why is there no Linux tablet section?

Okay guys, so why is there no Linux tablet section?

I currently have a IRULU WalkNBook (which is marketed as a tablet netbook hybrid)and I am having some problems purging windows 8 from it. It would be nice if there was a section of this forum I could do that in.

hey! yea, Linux on a tablet...
Umm, I dont know your machine, I have an Archos. Boots from USB, so I have set up a bootable stick and ... installed Mint on it...
Again, I have NO clue what your machine is like...but...worth trying?
And yes, a Tablet section...that'd be an idea :)
Maybe tell Jeremy?
Welcome to the pack! And already with a great idea! Great having you around :)

Good question, but I suspect the answer is that most tablet users run some form of Android or Chrome, and there are fora for those.

really confused

Actually its quite perplexing what is going on with this tablet. UEFI skips directly over the liveboot usb even if I command it to execute an override and boot from it. I have done this both from windows 8, and from the UEFI interface. I know the usb works too, because I tried it in a laptop. I have tried both lineages of UEFI attack, one being fedora, and the other being Ubuntu. Both meet with the same outcome:failure. I have turned both secure boot, and fast boot off, and different on/off combinations of both. This shouldn't be happening. I cant figure out why I cant reach the bootloader. Does anyone know anything here about how to configure UEFI? because im thinking that's the problem, but cant be sure. Does anyone know if blocks on different OS's are possible for non-arm types of tablets? My tablet uses an Atom Quadcore. If anyone knows how to mount and then map a usb from UEFI bash, I would also be interested in hearing from you. Im pulling my hair out here. I really don't want to use windows 8.

I want to come back to Linux now that im too old to play video games and because I don't like how Microsoft data-mines and colludes with mass surveillance.

Nah, you're never to old for that! :D

Thanks for the feedback. I'd say the Linux - Mobile forum would be an appropriate place for questions about Linux on a tablet.

Linux - Mobile
This forum is for the discussion of all topics relating to Mobile Linux. This includes Android, Tizen, Firefox OS, Sailfish OS, Maemo, MeeGo, Ubuntu Mobile, WebOS, Open Mobile Alliance and other similar projects and products.
This seems like the obvious place for questions concerning tablets. Personally, I think laptops should also be in Mobile, but since laptops already have a separate sub-forum, is yet another sub-forum for tablets necessary?

I should think so

When the problem I am having seems to be related to a specific kind of device, I would think that in and of itself warrants its own section. Dont get me wrong though, I understand that splitting your eyes and ears up like that might not be a good thing. For instance, by separating the forums, it could rob many resolvable issues, which require of an advanced knowledge, of the audience with the talent to fix the problem.

There is also the sister (?) site AndroidQuestions.org. Or is that where the Linux - Mobile thread points ...

I wonder if you can install rEFInd onto it?

BTW is that really the name of it? That's funny. IRULU or I Rule You. Now I just wonder who is "I" and who is "You". But I think I know.
