What happened to my post?
 

Hello,
I made my first post earlier today in the software section and it appeared. I returned an hour later and it was still here. I've returned a few hours later now and it has disappeared.

What is the most direct link to a moderator here?
Should I simply assume it lost and repost?
Did I abuse forum rules in the post somehow?

may be the one you somehow "lost".

Sometimes new posters are moderated.

An example is that you were, and it was approved

Next, if you edit that post, it will require moderator approval again.

Just the way the site engine works.

I've been a moderately skilled computer user for many years. Started at college in 88. Unfortunately I narrowly missed the opportunity to learn DOS command since by 88 my college had mostly replaced the IBMs in the computing labs with Apples. My brain was early on 'imprinted' by GUIs.

After school I only owned PCs. Eventually tried a few flavors of Linux, Mint primarily. Tried and failed. A few times. Probably a bit of the above had to do with it. Spoiled. Needed my hand held.

Only recently I tried Lubuntu and I have to say it is the leap I've been waiting for. Small, simple. Everything just works. Out-of-the-box works. Wireless connectivity, file sharing, terminal apt-get additions. More seamless interface with keyboard functions. Etc. A whole lot less of diving deeply into Linux forums for hours each time I wanted to do anything, even relatively simple anythings.

So far so impressed! I'm now dual booting Lubuntu and winpro7 on a oldish 32bit hp elitebook 8570p. Still more computer than I need 99 percent of the time:)
