What defines a newbie, a member and a senior member?

What defines a newbie, a member and a senior member? Is it the distribution you use, the age of a forum member or the knowledge one possesses?

Just curious ;)

The number of posts you have made.

If you haven't learned how to use a site's FAQ, you're a newbie --> http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ain#faq_newbie

And you are absolutely right about that :). I was searching for a FAQ on the forum itself I'm sorry :(.

I have moved this thread to LQ Suggestions and Feedback, because that's where questions about the site go.

@XavierP:
None of these threads are called FAQ. I was loocking for a sticky. I had better just search for it but I didn't. I am sorry.

I assume from your smiley that you know I added that for information -- I found it an interesting thread -- & was not intending to "pile on". My apologies if it seemed otherwise.

technicaly speaking, your right, but boy is it such a load of crock...

a newbie = upto so many posts( i think 50)
member = so many more(not sure but upto about 1000)
senior member = +1000
why cant lq change it to something else?...probably the reason being that it makes some feel important...

using the FAQ, i dont, so that makes me a newbie...roflmao

newbie - has a life so doesn't post much
member - lost his girlfriend so has more time to post
sr member - either has been here a looooonnng time, or more likely has no life and posts way too much
guru - has a life but wrote a script that posts for him.

colucix 01-03-2008 10:26 AM

This is my theory, too: more posts, too few girls in the neighborhood! :)
