What about rename LinuxQuestion.org into GNULinuxQuestion.org ?

I was just wondering this simple question (see the title of this post). I recently read (again) the gnu philosophy as explained by R.M Stallman on www.gnu.org and I realized that he should be more represented in the freeware universe.

And I checked for the "www.GnuLinuxQuestion.org" domain name which seem to be available ....

We've been LQ for more than 10 years now and have built up the brand over that time. Not having Gnu in the name hasn't damaged us nor have we had Richard Stallman complain :) By changing the name we would be trying to fix something that isn't broken. Besides, in general conversation (on and offline) there are few people who take the time to say "Gnu/Linux" so it makes no sense to do so here.

GNULinuxQuestion.org actually used to redirect to LQ, but it looks like I let it expire at some point.

I am in the Linux camp.

+1. Labeling everything as GNU/Linux is ridiculous.

I also don't agree with Mr. Stallman 100% of the time because some of his beliefs are plain dogmatic, which really isn't freedom. I respect the man though, no doubt.

LQ is surely one of the most influence source of information about free software, opensource work and GNU/Linux distributions. He deserve to be known by everyone interested in this type of topic.
I agree that LQ is plenty functional, but in the same time I agree rms when he say that's representativeness of the (HUGE) work made by the GNU project. I don't think everybody should use 'GNU/Linux' just right now, but the most influent in the GNU/Linux word. I try as often as I can, to use the GNU/linux appeal to represent what usualy people think when they say 'Linux'. I am convince that is easier to use 'Linux' rather than GNU/Linux but I'm also convince that's a bit unfair. And more, I don't want to be too influenced by 'marketing' consideration (it's easier to remind with this appellation, it's make sens for majority of user, etc ...).
The GNU initiative is not only a bunch of libraries and free softwares, It's mainly a philosophy. An approach to the individual liberty conception. An effort to keep that as a fundamental right. And simply due to that, we should place it at the top of our priorities.
There was a man who said one day something like : 'people who prefer safety to liberty deserve none of them and will loose both'. Speak about 'Linux' is safety, speak about 'GNU/Linux' is liberty, I'm afraid we'll finally loose both.

Re-establish this redirection could be a simple and easy way to solve this controversy, no?
