We need new smilies

The smilies we have are old and tiring. How about some new smilies. I've seen funny animated smilies on other forums.

Just a suggestion

Really? I think there are some fun ones:

Just my 0.02.

Confused as to your stance on the issue.

But I don't really use any other public forums.

We'll be adding some new smilies (similar to the ones at AQ) when LQ gets its next major code update. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks jeremy for reading my suggestion. New smilies can add spice and humor to our posts

They're fine too, but it would be nice to have additions to express emotions not found here.

Hmm, I'm not really a fan of the animated ones, I find the movement distracting. Firefox let's me stop the animation by pressing escape, but it's still kind of annoying.

While on the subject, we need a smiley for the following code: :-)

It should show up as a smiley like this one does So that when typing, simply typing :-) will produce a graphic smiley, just like when I type it shows up as a graphical smiley

Shouldn't it?
