I would like to donate voluntarily.
However, the paypal page (from LQ homepage) does not work (at least for me, item #35 and cannot proceed to next step).

Is there any other way??

Thank you for your keeping penguins happy!

Did you try the Affero or Amazon links? Alternatively, drop an email to Jeremy and she be able to give you some other ways to pay. He is away from keyboard for a while, so he won't be able to answer immediately.

What's the exact link you're following? All the links on work as expected. Thank you for supporting LQ.

Big apology for this posting, however.....

After several attempts, I managed to donate. For some reason, two donations went out.

However, I am not happy about the donation procedure.

One went through paypal. which I had great difficulty to proceed (see #1 in this thread).
The other went through

Reasons which make an unhappy penguin follow:
1, As of today, that link no longer exists on donation page. I cannot check the terms and conditions.
2, As I was not quite confident, I did not click "yes" at final screen. (or at least, I do not remember that I clicked. I remember I decided to close the screen before I finalise.)
3, For some reason, it set up recurring payment every year. Although I am happy to donate, I do not remember if I saw that. Also, no instruction how to terminate annual payment, (e-mail says, annual payment until termination)

1, For some reason, it was not easy to navigate for me. (see #1) But I managed to do that.
2, No e-mail or whatever at all from paypal. I do not have any number or id to contact if anything happens. I also do not know if donation goes out every year as says.

I have used online shopping (Amazon, Yahoo and others) and online bill payment (through my bank), and usually the procedure is not this confusing.

I know that everypenguin here is a volunteer. It is not my intention to increase workload. But I appreciate if you can improve this situation.

Happy Penguins!

I guess I'm a little confused. Why did you subscribe using both PayPal and 2CO? To answer a couple of your questions: The link still is on the contributing members page (, you can login to 2CO and cancel at any time or send me a message to cancel recurring billing, the contributing member page makes the recurring bit clear I hope ("For your convenience your subscription will be automatically renewed - you can cancel at any time."). As for the email from PayPal, you'd need to contact them directly to remedy that. Thank you for supporting LQ. Also, please note that donating ( is in no way related to the contributing member program. It's possible that is causing some of your confusion.

Yes, you exactly pointed out the problem. I am less confused. I was not sure what makes difference between contributing member and donation.

Paypal, my answer is clear, I will not use paypal again., I found the page to 1) report a problem, 2) ask a question and 3) vendor login. So far, I have not found the way for me to login.

Reason for me to use both and paypal is:
I started with paypal, which was so slow. I opened also, then paypal went. For some reason, both payments went through.

Anyway, thank you very much for keeping penguins happy.
