I found this thread right now, browsing in the "Website Suggestions & Feedback" in order to start a thread to complain about "My LQ". I tried the search first, but nothing came up. Anyway personally I dislike "My Computer" "My Documents" and all those My, but I guess I can live with it, if this is easier for newbies. It's a fact that some people I know who had a problem with linux, and posted a thread in the forum, they used the search button to find out if someone had replied to them. The "user CP" is the most powerful thing in the site. If "My LQ" clears things out for them (which I doubt) then I'm OK with it, but to be honest when I first saw it, it looked so silly to me that I thought someone has hacked the site.

Also, I don't thing having "user cp" as a button in the home page and then "My LQ" in the banner is a good thing. It's confusing, so I would suggest either change them both to "My LQ" or keep them both "User CP".

Thank you for your time.

I think it's really good.

It makes more sense for newbies to find 'My LQ' instead of 'User CP'

There's still work to be done though Jeremy. Like on the 'My LQ' page it's still says 'User CP'.

Well, it's good enough for me.

hmm.. My LQ- on actually seeing it there- I can see why the anti-microsoft sensitivities of people would be injured (microsoft?!?!?! arrrghh!!!)

I like it- but perhaps something we ALL like (as if) could come up.

under the "My LQ" menu, perhaps change it to User Control Panel? it still is user cp, obviously it can't be My LQ- that being the name of the menu.

thanks Jeremy, for listening, even if LQ isn't a democracy. :^)

????

not what I meant. I meant that even though jeremy has no obligation to listen to us (users) he does anyway. So that's what I was saying. Thanks.
