The rejection should give a reason, if it's RFC compliant. What does the BOUNCE email say?
(Note, the rejection might be sent by the the sending (LQ's) mail server, but it should still be reporting what the receiving mail server gave as the reason for rejection)

(I also get that you may not wish to post that email)

My current pet peeve is having abuse reports of spam rejected by the listed reporting address because they contain spam. (sigh)

An example of a recent such BOUNCE:
Code:
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  abuse@thespammerserver.com
The mail server detected your message as spam and has prevented delivery (80).

The emails which Jeremy has kindly provided to me just state that "
An error occurred while trying to deliver the mail to the following recipients: <my email address>" and contain no headers. I've let my email provider know and will report back.

Finally got to the bottom of the problem I raised back in April. My ISP has withdrawn support for "disposable email addresses" in which they stated

Quote:
You can no longer receive emails on any disposable email addresses you have
I was subscrribed to linuxquestions.org using a disposable email address and have been so for many years.

See thread https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...es-4175657663/ for a fuller discussion

I've now changed the email address that I use to subscribe to linuxqustions and have started to receive notice of updates to threads that I subscribe to.

Strangely, I still receive some emails to my disposable email addresses. but increasingly can't send emails using these disposable addresses.

I have never changed anything on this page since I registered and started my first thread a few days ago. So far, I have never got a notification of the replies. The "Default Thread Subscription Mode" is "instant email notification" by default. The following options are NOT enabled by default.
Receive Email from Administrators
Receive Community Bulletin Newsletters
Receive Zero Reply Email

A few days ago, I registered for an account here using a disposable email address and got a "Welcome to LinuxQuestions.org!" email.

I think the handling of "disposable email addresses" may have had something to do with my issue also -- I send evrything sent to any address @mydomain to admin@mydomain and I think the provider may have made some changes that affected it.
So far so good though recebtly -- hopefully it's now been resolved.
