Used to get notifications on subscribed threads
If someone posted a comment to a thread that I expressed an interest in I used to get an email prompting me that something's changed.
This stopped for me several months ago.Just got back from a holiday and haven't found the time to wade through 2 weeks of posts. Is there anything I can do to restart notifications or have these just been stopped for everyone? |
Maybe your "Default Thread Subscription Mode" on profile.php?do=editoptions was changed?

You currently have your email preferences set to No. Note that a hard bounce will automatically disable further emails from being sent until you re-enable.

I have this exact issue and did not change any settngs.
I did, however, install the "app" could that be the cause? I am willing to be proven wrong as I do, sometimes, mess things up without realising it. |
I can confirm that:
1) Installing the app in no way impacts your notification settings. 2) All your email preferences are set to "No". A reminder: a hard bounce will automatically disable further emails from being sent until you re-enable --jeremy |
Sorry to sounbd stupid but which email settings? Can you tell what I changed recently?
It could be possible my mail provider was down at some point but, since I never changed my mail settings, I have no idea where to look. |

I have "Default Thread Subscription Mode" set to "Instant email notification" what else is there?
For the record I have received email form many other sources to the inbox where I usually receive email form this site, so I know it is working. |
The "Receive Email from Administrators" box must be checked to get thread update emails.

It would appear that, for some reason, my provider is bouncing email from this site as I receive some notifications then they stop and I have to re-tick the "Receive Email from Administrators" box.

When you get chance, please could you send me (by email, IM, whatever) one of these boubnce messages? I've been hoping this was a glitch in my email service but it seems I really will need to buig the poor peeps in tech support.

Thank you :)
Now to annoy my provider... |
I feel I ought to update, but feel bad as I have no real information.
Sufice it to say that Jeremy has been very helpful and the guys and galls at my provider have been given the information I have. My completely uneducated hunch is that somebody in the line has decided to distrust automated email (or some attribute of it) for security reasons and it's a bit too paranoid. |
