Easy to say but hard to do...

This forum operates on several premises:

1) that everyone is acting in good faith, trying to do their best and should assume that that all others are acting in the same way

2) that when suggestions are made, it is on the basis of perceived knowledge, that not everyone can be guaranteed to answer correctly or to know enough to judge correctly the worth of their contribution in every instance

3) that threads and their posts are processes of discovery and mistakes, sometimes with no answer, sometimes with several equally good answers, often with blind paths

All in all, the Forum maintains a high level of collective competence on a very wide number of complex topics, and maintains a tone of civility while showing a self-discipline bound to the questions posed and the responses given.

It is a collective, social enterprise, the way such social enterprises are.

... you could add correct spelling/grammar/capitalization. It gets hard on the eyes after a while if someone constantly refuses to capitalize 'i' (I, as in me), use apostrophes (as in don't) and ignores the spell-checker

How about showing a modicum of respect to other LQ members instead of slagging off on them as "monkeys". That might be a nice place to start. Or you know, if you don't have something decent to say, just don't post.

Spelling/grammar and other stuff are not subjects of this forum.
In other words - let try to learn Polish then we may talk about grammar.
Let consider English as a way to communicate for people from all the world.
Nowadays 'lingua latina'. So don't tell to anyone that uses English in wrong way if it is not a native language of that person. We - not native English - try to do our best but - as I've said - try to learn Polish.

I don't think the poster was trying to belittle a non-native English speaking person. I rather think he was trying to point out to the OP, he violated his own complaint. But your point is well taken.

As this thread doesn't contain a suggestion or feedback, and is not constructive in any way; I'm going to close it. If you have specific suggestions on how we can improve LQ, please let us know in a new thread.
