Thread Watching

Is there any way to keep track of a thread which contains information i would like to follow but don't want to write about.

I get this a lot, i come accross a thread that i would like to follow but there's no point in replying because i have insufficent knowledge.

i was inspired to ask this after surfing on ebay where you can watch items, can i watch threads?
