There could be a kernel forum.

Recently with the new 2.6 kernel there has been a sudden rush of questions involving compiling/using the 2.6 kernel, the problem will probably only get worse as 2.6 becomes more widely used and people feel more compelled to switch.

So my idea was to make a "kernel General" section for all compiling/configuring needs/errors. (on any current past or future version)

It could be standalone, or it could go under "Linux - General" or "Linux - Software"

Like explained in which this was brought up about a week or so ago, just doesn't seem to be enough traffic for the kernel to have its own forum at this time.
Yes, there seems to be more posts and threads started regarding the latest kernel since it was just released, but I feel this will soon slow down.
Its just like with any release of major components of Linux, there's that rush or threads and questions being asked. If this were the case in which we would start a forum due to this, we'd probably have apache, samba and whatever else separate forums which it really depends on a case by case basis. The kernel can fit into many categories depending on what the issue is, etc.
