I am getting that only after manually confirming the exception.

My web browser:

Tor Browser 8.5.4 (based on Mozilla Firefox 60.8.0esr) (64-bit)

After starting up the browser and loading up LQ, I get an SSL cert warning. See screen1.

SSL cert details of it are in screen2.

Once I manually confirm the exception and the website loads, the SSL cert details (see screen3) get to match the ones from your screenshot.

But please notice that screen2 and screen3 contain different SSL certs: first one is issued for LQ, second one has CloudFlare in it. Your screenshot only has the expiration date, what does it show if you click the View Certificate button?

I am confused.

I'm seeing this and only this when I click on "View certificate":
(FF 68something)
(and it's the same on Tor Browser)

Well, you're partially right.
Looks like the certificate for linuxquestions.org has expired on August 27 2019, while the cert for www.linuxquestions.org expires on November 30 2019.

Hopefully Jeremy will fix it.

jeremy 09-02-2019 10:26 AM

linuxquestions.org should always redirect to www.linuxquestions.org. Looking into why it doesn't now.

The redirect was broken due to the cert expiration. Everything should be working as expected now, thanks for the heads up.

Requiring clicking through for an exception everytime.

Not happening here. Cert shows expiration of May 20, 2020
Try "Clear your cookies and site data" after clicking on the padlock.

jeremy 12-20-2019 01:59 PM

I'm not able to reproduce this either. Is it happening to any other members?

Nope, not here.

FlinchX 12-20-2019 09:59 PM

Can't reproduce.

That is the MITM cert from Cloudflare's server:
Code:

Subject
CN = ssl377716.cloudflaressl.com

I'm referring to the origin cert from Jeremy's server:
Code:

Subject
CN = www.linuxquestions.org
