Smile The Chronicle of LinuxQuestions.org

Hi Jeremy,

One of these days I hope you can write a history of LQ -- how you got the idea, conceptualized it, how you built this website and how it has become the roaring success it is today.

I'm sure a lot of us are burning with curiousity about your story and the people behind the scenes who have helped in the making of this site. We can all see the finished product it is today, but how was it in the beginning for you? How did you make it this big? Better still if you write a book, I think it can become a bestseller.

I would be a very inspirational story for aspiring webmasters like me.

I totally agree with you. I've been lucky to meet some of the LQ mods at the Linux Expo UK last October and I was also "burning" to find out the story behind LQ. Anyway, I got my questions answered, but I think it would be cool if Jeremy did an article in his own words about why and how he created LQ and how far it's come since as well as the people behind the scenes.

I'll be lying if I said I remember the names, coz I met quite a lot of people on the days that I attended. I did see Jeremy but couldn't chat with him coz there were quite a few people waiting their turn to speak to him. However, some of these guys said they were there right from the beginning. If you look at my profile you'll notice that I actually started posting more round about that time, coz I realised how much I benefit from the site and thought I'd give back to the community where and when I can.

FWIW, in a couple of the interviews I have done I've gone into some details about the beginnings of LQ. If Google doesn't turn up the interviews, my LQ Blog should.

http://jeremy.linuxquestions.org/blo...27/167830.html for one of the other interviews. The latest (or at least a very recent) issue of LinuxWorld Magazine also has a partial interview.
