The blog has become useless

Blog should be a source of Information, Experience and News.

But 8/10 are literally questions that should be in a forum. Where they get more attention, and get answered quicker.

Please add a disclaimer warning that blog is not a place for questions

Thanks jeremy.

Thanks Harishankar, that thread must have slipped by me.

I hope i'm not asking too much but

any chance of deleting the relevant useless blog entries?

jeremy 01-10-2006 10:32 AM

Arbitrarily removing content from someones blog (unless it directly violates one of our rules) is not something I'd like to get into.

And it probably also poses a problem in the amount of time it would take for Jeremy and mods to go through the blogs. :)

Hi, got the recent newletter...saw the bit about having your own blog here....

I thought before I go and do that I'd check out some others people blogs....

After searching High and Low ....um, how do I find those?...:)

There's nothing in the search and no link other than to Jeremy's blog in my menu....

TIA

UPDATE: OK...I just clicked on a poster's name and saw on the drop down that I could view their blog from there...

It's be nice to browse just blogs...is there a way to do that?

TIAA

UPDATE2: Now I actually click the LQ BLog link in the drop down I see that it brings up a list of recently updated blog posts by all members...

Still should be a link in the main menu , IMO...thanks

Can I ask what script is powering this new multi-blog feature?

scuzzman 01-17-2006 05:16 PM

It's in the MyLQ section. See here: http://www.scuzzman.org/blog.jpg

Khepri 01-17-2006 05:35 PM

This is confusing...LOL

I would think that a link called My Blog would goto *my blog*...!?!?!

But when I click it I'm taken to that recently updated list...

Another thing I noticed is that if I goto another thread and click members names in that thread, I get a different list of updated entries?!?

Hence, confusion....

If I create *my blog* will that link still take me to the list or to *my blog*?

Sorry if I'm being an idiot...LOL

scuzzman 01-17-2006 05:51 PM

What's the URL it goes to? When I click "My Blog" it takes me to http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/blog/scuzzman

Khepri 01-17-2006 05:55 PM

Same thing here...http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/blog/Khepri

But I haven't posted or created a blog yet...all I see is what appears tobe a list of recently updated blogs...

When I click yours in the drop down under your ID I get nothing...:)

So I'm wondering if I creat a post what I will see....but that brings us back to my orignal question of wanting to browse other users blogs before creating my own....

jeremy 01-17-2006 06:27 PM

For clarification, if you have never posted any content, you will see a list of recent entries. As soon as you post a single entry, that goes away.

Please Change the link title from

My Blog

to

Blogs

it is very misleading and confusing

cs-cam 01-17-2006 11:24 PM

Hmmm, I've made a post in my blog, the link on the side takes me to http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/blog/cs-cam but I still get everyone elses random crap :\

Any ideas why that is?
