Thanks for multi-quote. Was that announced somewhere?

I've just recently noticed "multi-quote"

GREAT IDEA! :D

I like it. Sorry if I only learned it by osmosis. Was it announced anywhere?

It was rolled out on a BETA basis and has not been officially announced yet. Feedback is welcome.

Likely as others, I'm very tab-oriented in my browswer. So I do use the middle button to click-open a quote from someone else so I can answer a question where I have points matching several earlier posts. This feature just enhances that all for me, saving me the time of swapping to those other tabs, and using copy-paste.

So as I say, I like it.

Useful feature when one needs to multi-quote.

Not sure if it's supposed to work like this but to multi-quote on this thread I had to click on the multi-quote button on the first post by rtmistler, but when I left-clicked on the multi-quote button on Jeremy's message, it just didn't work (the button didn't switch to orange and still showed a '+' sign), so I had to middle click on the message to be able to multi-quote. Not sure if it's due to this feature still being beta or to some problem with my browser (I'm using Firefox with noscript, just in case). Nice feature anyway!

Multi-quote does require javascript to work properly.

I would be grateful for any hints on how to use it. When I press "Multi-Quote This Message", it turns orange, that's all. Firefox 48.0.

Click on another "quote" button, and it'll open the advanced editor with all the multiquotes you've selected along with the last quote. SUPER wonderful option for when you want to reply to multiple quotes at once. Absolutely love it.

I am a tabby myself, usually I CTL-click-quote the posts I want to reply to then copy paste from the tabs.

This test post is my first use of multi-quote and it is the cat's m-e-o-w!

It could be worse, it could be flash! Thanks!

I think general browsing without javascript these days is pretty pointless anyway.

I still don't understand. Can you, please, write a step-by-step explanation?

For each post you want to quote click on the https://lqo-thequestionsnetw.netdna-...iquote_off.gif icon. It will turn orange to show that you've selected the post.
When you've selected the posts you want to include and are ready to reply click the https://lqo-thequestionsnetw.netdna-...tons/quote.gif button and all the posts you've selected will be quoted in your reply.

Oh, thank you. I thought I needed to select text in a post.
