SWAG Books

How do you cash in on those two free Linux books I saw on this site just before I joined this group?

Is this what you'r talking about?

Swag Books

Thanks to Pie Corbett, we have been talking about swag bags/books and magpie-ing for some time now as a support for writing. Swag books or magpie books are basically journals to collect ideas in but up until now there has been very little sharing of what they could look like.
And how do you "cash in" on something that's free (as in beer, I guess)?

jdkaye,

I believe I was too specific in my original question. I did not even know that such a thing as SWAG books even existed. What I was referring to was what appeared after I originally clicked on some link to arrive at the web page where everybody is invited to join this forum. In short, it is the page appearing where everybody is originally invited to join. I did not note either of the two books (hot links) or their titles since I incorrectly believed I could relocate them easily after joining. However, I do believe one to the two book covers (hot links) did feature a green palm facing outward. Thank you for your help so far.

Respectfully,

Brems

Do you mean this one? I know it's not a palm tree but it is a tree. You can find it and plenty of others on this site.

Here's the link from the free book offer on the front page of LQ. Once you log in, it disappears.

I took a look at it once and decided it wasn't worth my giving my email address to yet someone else.
