"subscribe to thread"? "subscribe to forum"?

What does it do when I "subscribe to this thread"?

I'm hoping that the purpose is to make it easier for me to keep track of threads I'm currently commenting on (instead of using little scraps of paper :) ). Does it server any other purpose?

So far as I can tell, I tried subscribing to a number of threads, and only *one* shows up listed in my "User CP".

[Edit: I had previously subscribed to a number of different threads (some possibly a month or two old) and they did not show up in my User CP. I just subscribed to *this* thread and it *does* show up, along with one other one I just subscribed to.]

I think they send an e-mail to you when a reply is made to the thread you've subscribed...

Ah, I see. As long as you have it set so LQ can send you email notices (in "User CP" --> "edit options").

Thanks.

By default, only subscribed threads with replies today are shown in your UserCP. You can change this with the dropdown.
