i have been thinking about this.
i think that 900s = 15m is an awfully short time to autologout.

please consider this:

LQ only registers user activity when i
- reload a tab
- open a new LQ link
- submit/edit/rate a post
- some other activity that requires clicking internal links
and not when i
- read a post
- click external links
- type
- close a tab

my workflow:
1) open all tabs that interest me
2) go through them one by one, and close what doesn't interest me, or write something otherwise
when i "get into" some topic, those 15 minutes can pass too quickly.

Suggestion:
Please increase (double?) the time until autologout.
Is that feasible?

To clarify, 900s is not an auto-logout, but the duration a session lasts after inactivity. It's standard across almost all fora and we have no plans to change it at this time. If you don't want to have to log back in when your session ends, checking the "Remember Me" box will accomplish that. Thanks for the feedback.
