Sometimes posts seem to be out of sequence

This has happened to me at least twice now. I make an answer to someone else's post, I press the submit button, and my post appears directly underneath the post I was answering (as it should). Then later I find that a post by someone else has somehow inserted itself above mine (and with an earlier time too) so that my post no longer makes sense in its new context.

If the post is by the OP, and they are new, it is likely because their post was made, but held for moderation. Once approved, it will appear in the sequence when it was originally submitted by them.

There was one earlier today, and I believe I did see you as someone who had responded already beyond the point where the new user had their "held for moderation" post.

The quickreply inserts your post, but does not check for newer posts (that is: the post was there when you clicked submit; we don't live reload the page at this time).

Use the 'quote', but pare it down to as little as possible, & reply; or direct the reply to the original post/poster by using the @name way.

Not actually what the original problem was about. If you're composing a reply, and preview your post, you'll see if there were additional posts made between the time you started, and reached a point where you're ready to submit your reply. Still those would not be out of sequence, just that you'd know about another post made while you were typing.

In this thread case I believe it was due to the moderated post.
