Site acting "funny" with certain images/links

I don't know if it's just my browser or the site, but when I am responding to messages the lower part of the quick reply is invisible. Meaning that as I'm typing the reply, the last line until it returns I cannot see the characters, but I can see the cursor moving along as the letters flow.

The other thing is that occasionally when I hover over some of the images such as the buttons below a user's post for their profile, email and such, the images will turn into black or colorful squares, each as I just glide the mouse across them.

I don't see this happening elsewhere on the net, however I don't frequent anywhere else long enough to find out either

My browser is Galeon 1.2.5 running on Slackware 8.1 A few others have off handedly mentioned Firebird not showing the "New Thread" button at times, and they've had to switch to another browser.

These things are very tedious and really aren't that big of a bother (other than the reply disappearing act) so I thought I'd just mention it. It's more likely my browser anyway.

Cool

I've seen it on many occasions with Mozilla 1.0.1 on RedHat 8. Only, the quick reply is not what disappears, but instead some of the text from posts. I also get the funny looking buttons.

Please forgive this test post as I am trying to determine the source of a posting problem I am having with Galeon 1.3.8

This was posted with Moz 1.4-2

OK this went through, so it seems to be Galeon - I get kicked to the page that states I have not specified a thread (as from a forum jump) when I click the post button in Galeon. I'll check my installation and down grade to 1.3.7 if I have to.

Thanks again.

Oh, and this is a usr-local-bin SuSE rpm package, so it may be an issue with the ulb rolled package and not the galeon version. Just to be clear.
