Simple question

How do you subscribe to this or any other forum?

Use the 'Thread Tools' menu at the top of the first post. See attached screenshot.

That subscribes per Thread. I could not find out how to do it per-forum.

It is also possible to get email updates whenever a thread is updated. Maybe for a forum, too ... ?

There is a similar menu in the main page of the forum: Forum Tools -> Subscribe to this forum.

Also, please use more descriptive thread titles in future (as you're asked to when posting threads).

Thank-you all for the information. I will search the areas recommended.

I am *_extremely new _* to this OS & community, in fact, this was my first post. I found your comment neither helpful or informative, in fact it seemed to be censure. I posted my simple question in the *_NEWBIE_* area, not the eloquent querent area <if there is one>. A more helpful response to my query may perhaps, have been suggestions on how to better phrase my "thread title".
To any that I may have inadvertently offended, my deepest apologies.

Welcome. No worries. :)

There's some excellent advice on how to ask effective questions in places like LQ here.

That is rather simple. A good title for your thread would be "How to subscribe to a forum on LQ?", "Need advice on subscribing to a forum on LQ." or something similar.
A good thread-title will help you to get more (and with that sometimes better) answers, since it will attract people that have knowledge on the particular topic.

Oh, and welcome to LQ.

And don't forget that a good thread title gives many many benefits to other members or guests querying the LQ search engine. Welcome to LinuxQuestions and have fun! :)

One of the sexier members of LQ wrote a couple of Tutorials on this subject which can be found here and here :D

One of the sexier?! A random one, I see... ;)

XavierP 05-31-2012 06:10 AM

Random? Absolutely not. It was proven using science, statistics and sheer mindless violence. Just like any other election.

Sexier? Who would deny it?

Did you use your charms to get Jeremy's beer from the dragon?
