That is surely interesting.
I wonder what these users (including rturn) have in common that I don't have (because this has never ever happened to me, not even through TOR)?

Yet it seems none of those actually pursued the problem, so it's not even wild speculation at this point...

I have never got one of these at LQ - I wonder, how are people accessing LQ? Are the posters who received the CAPTCHA request signed into their Google accounts on their browsers?

I wasn't signed into Google.

I was certainly not signed into "google", nor using any kind of proxy. I've only seen this once when trying to edit a blog entry.

Being signed into Google would have no impact (nor is it something we'd even be aware of). As the web evolves and malicious attacks become more and more common, we've worked hard to ensure we have reasonable defenses in place. It's clear a rule is being triggered here that shouldn't be. If this happens to you, please send me as much information as possible (time, IP, link to content) so we can iterate and work to reduce false positives. Thanks.

I see the captcha on clicking on "save changes" and moving to blog_post.php?do=updateblog&blogid=

The more information the better, but the minimum to help troubleshoot is time, IP, content. I'd recommend sending this via email or PM. Thanks again.

Only blog #37783 affected - suspect it's being triggered by "content"...?

Only triggers in "advanced" full editor mode.

Quick editor not affected at all so far I can tell.
