Recent Post glitch

Right now (EDIT: erm, 1:50 pacific time), there is a little glitch in the Programming forum where the real latest post is different than the one listed on the main forum list.

Nothing major, but still a bug

What you are probably seeing is the "auto-bump" function in action. If a thread does not receive any replies, it is automatically bumped up to the top of the list after 16 hours (and again at 32 hours if there are still no replies) As a result of the auto-bump, you can have a zero reply thread with a timestamp of (for example) Monday at 02:00 appear above a thread with a timestamp of Monday at 14:45.

I made sure of that. The later post was indeed made later, but wasn't reflected as a recent post.

The two posts involved were

and

By the looks of the posts you've linked to, it was likely indeed the 0 reply bump functionality.

I think I'm getting confused by the timestamp on the actual post, and the timestamp in the thread list. Because the second one is timestamped "11-27-06, 05:01 AM" on the post itself, but is timestamped "Yesterday 01:48 PM" in the thread list. Perhaps they should be consistent with each other.

They are only different in the case of 0 reply bumps, in which case it's on purpose.
