They really require no reply, in fact ignoring off topic (aka general) might be a good idea too.

I think that as a general rule a forum would look at an unreplied to post as an unanswered question or unargued with statement, no?
Am I way off here??

When I log on, the first thing I do is check my subscribed threads. The next thing I do is check the zero-reply posts, then I start browsing around.
I am satisfied with how the zero-reply function currently behaves.

Yeah, quite happy myself as well. I don't mind if it's introduction threads, once in a while I feel like being nice and saying hi to people. Very rarely, but still.
