Posts Per Thread
I think an interesting user statistic to harvest would be a `Posts Per Thread' stat.
This number will evaluate and suggest or imply a users susceptibility toward response and follow ups. Will the poster stick around and see a problem through? If they average 3.6 PPT, than its probable that they will. |
The number of posts the user has made, divided by the number of threads the user has posted in? I think that implementing this without putting an undue strain on the hardware might be technically difficult.
Also, you might consider recommending that this statistic not apply to posts made in General. Otherwise, someone could get a high ratio by participating in nothing but the Religion or Windows vs Linux megathreads there. |
Possible
Can't say I'd know either way.
I actually got the idea from the preexisting `LQ Helpfu Quotient'. Yours is... Quote:
Also, almost all the other necessary information is already in the statistics as well. There is the Total Posts, I figured number of threads could be considered similarly calculated, stored and called. Your total posts? Quote:
Account Creation Date `Registered': ng Today's Date: pv Number Of Posts: ae (pv-ng)/ae Here's yours... Quote:
dugan statistics as of March 4th, 2012. Good call on applying it only to specific forums. |
Thanks for the feedback. While we don't have any specific plans to implement this, we'll keep it in mind as a future enhancement. Note that, since we have removed the ability to vote "No" in the helpful system, I have updated the profile statistics to read:

I was unaware that you had changed that stat feature.
I like the new approach. |
