possible search crash.../home/httpd/linuxquestions/questions/search.php
Hi
I was trying to search an old post as my memory remembered certain words. I mention those words in case others can reproduce /dev/null /etc/passwd intruder less info or information. 1) In searching I decided to limit searches to security forum and chose relevancy 2) Sometimes I got some hits and other times I got a blank screen is firefox. I really do mean blank...firefox menu at top and a white screen below just like when you do a posting. No sidebars etc 3) This did not concern me, initially I just tried different permutations and then I got this Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 24 bytes) in /home/httpd/linuxquestions/questions/search.php on line 1526 I know that LQ has sped up the time you can repeat searches and I was doing them fairly quickly...but I never got an message saying wait x seconds. Let me know if you need more info cheerio |
Thanks for reporting.
LQ has had some problems but as far as I know they've been fixed that day. If this happens again please post a new thread. |
HI
I search again, not a crash this time but a repeatable event. If I search just security section I get results but they do not include all keywords /dev/null /etc/passwd intruder where I have selected relevancy and in descending order. So IMHO I should find the top post has all 3 terms? but I get 12 pages of not so. 2) Fair enough so I select all forums...and get this result http://h1.ripway.com/aus9/search.png It is a blank screen below title bar icons and tabs. 3) When I changed from relevancy search to thread date, I finally get this feedback post, the one we are viewing, at the top. And a list of hits. (not the one I am looking for but that is not the issue) I am thinking there is something amiss with relevancy?? 4) Thinking that I might be right on this I changed the search keywords to /dev/null /bin/false ...all forums....relevancy and a fresh blank screen as per link but if I reduce it to one forum I get hits. Therefore AFAIK, the search crashes if you choose RELEVANCY and ALL FORUMS Further confirmation (IMHO) was keyword /dev/null....type of search relevancy and all forums....the now familar blank screen. Let me know if you need more info? cheerio |
Thanks for the feedback. I'm doing some research into this issue now.
