Possible bug when posting from Android
 

I have been having a slight problem posting here on LQ from my Android 2.1 phone, and it has been going on long enough now that I figured I might as well post about it. I did search a bit for Android related bug reports and didn't seem to see any mention of it.

Very simply, when posting a reply (and possibly a new thread, I will find out in a second...), it always comes back with an error that says I need to wait 11 seconds between posts. The message does actually post, but it gets a little annoying having to keep navigating away from the error message (as it doesn't go back to the message list). This happens every time I use the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the page, I have to check when posting with the full editor but I seem to recall it happens then too.

The interesting thing is that the same thing happens when I use the Dolphin HD browser instead of the default Android browser, so I am not sure what is actually triggering it.

Seems to work fine for me. I'm not seeing any problems not caused by fat finger syndrome.

You don't get any errors when using the Quick Reply, or full editor? Or both?

Well the previous post was from Quick Reply and that was fine. This is from the full editor and I'll know in a second if it works.

No problems with the full editir either. However in both the Edit button had to be hit twice to get the edit to come up. Do you have the latest Dolphin from the market or did you get a version elsewhere? I'm running stock 2.1 and the latest DolphinHD from the market.

I'm not able to reproduce this - is it happening to any other members?

I think a similar thing happens when posting from the Midori browser (this has nothing to do with Android).

FWIW, I was able to post using Midori without encountering an issue.

Actually, I see the QR post was posted twice. That's likely what triggered your error message. Looking into this now.

Looking at the logs, Midori actually did send two identical POST requests; I'd say this is a browser bug.

When posting from Android, does the problem happen on both wifi and 3G?
