Many web pages annoyingly contain code to spawn popup ads. I usually don't have a big problem with the now that I use Opera. You can set it to refuse to spawn popups or you can have them load in the background. Of course I can't stand popups which are the spam of web browsing!!!!

You can switch them off in mozilla as well in Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Scripts & Windows

I have a strict no-popup rule, as I just don't like them. Someone did sneak one in on me - tricky noticed it the other day. I am in the proccess of having it removed now.

rverland, I didn't know that (what do you use then?) but if you ever do then you now know how to disable the pop-ups :-)
Plus someone else may have needed to know.
