In addition to having your distro displayed, you could have your kernel version displayed. It could be helpful with tech questions. And it can't be too hard to code... make another field in a table, make a SQL grab command for message list and user info, then make an insert table for the user cp.
there is just so much information you could ask for... it would be nice to always know their window manager etc... something like this has been in the planning for a while though.
and yes, obviously the coding to add what you want is pretty trivial.
Or maybe just a link in user info and message list where you could see comprehensive info about their stuff (which would be put in a nice fat field in user cp).
I agree that this could be useful and it would also be nice if it would support multiple configurations (ie for dual boots and more than one computer). Perhaps the user could also just select the machine that was related to the question from a drop down when they post the question.
And if you have multiple boxes, you could put all the relevant information into a nice webpage, put it up on your website and create a link to it in your signature...
