Now LQ has so many distributions how about listing them in alphabetical order?
Hello :)
It's late. My eyes are tired. I had some difficulty finding the distribution sub-forum I was looking for. Now LQ has so many distributions how about listing them in alphabetical order? Best Charles |
I like the history. If necessary, Ctrl-F on at least some browsers might help you. :)

catkin, Thanks for the feedback. They're actually listed in the order they joined LQ. We don't have any plans to change that at this time.

I assume you're talking about here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...stributions-5/ rather than here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-50/ Quote:
In that case, couldn't you add "Historical" & "Alphabetical" sort by buttons to the "Forum" heading? I like & agree w/ preserving the history, but I can see the utility of an alphabetical display. |
Hello archtoad6 :)
I noticed the usability issue at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-50/ but it applies equally at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...stributions-5/ Ctrl+F can be used in both places; it has to be used twice. Best Charles |
If you're using a subforum frequently, it would be far more efficient to bookmark the direct link to it rather than click through the main forum.
I do think there are far too many new subforums anyway. With all due respect to the developers, isn't it desirable to prune away some of them which haven't seen substantial development activity or forum activity over a period of a couple of years or so. I'm sure the list has quite a few. |
At this time we don't plan to add the ability to change the forum sort order, but we'll keep it in mind for a future enhancement.
harishankar, we do remove distro forums if a distro has gone inactive. --jeremy |
