Non-recurring option

I am very pleased that I FINALLY became a contributor (should have done this waay earlier). However, I am not too keen on an auto renewal system, I kind of wish there were an option to outright choose x amount of years, say just 1 year, or 5 years , and just have the option to pay a one-time price of 5 years ($35 x 5). I guess I am just paranoid, but I would feel more comfortable that way, plus since I contributed I actually want to now remove my CC from the sys.

I just like the idea of a one-time thing for x amount of months or in this case years. Just a thought, whether or not it is feasible is another thing.

If you subscribe using PayPal, there are options for both recurring and non-recurring. If you subscribe using a credit card I can turn off auto renewal for you at any time. Bitcoin is now also an option and that is not recurring. Just to clarify, we never have access to redit card information regardless of what option you choose.

Understandable - I don't mean to go strawman, but sites like Amazon I can at any time remove my credit card info and just use it 'on demand' so-to-speak. I know Amazon is not LQ, but yea I just feel more comfortable that way. I will consider Paypal, since I just subscribed I can pretty much wait near the end to make my decision. I would venture to guess also that near the end I will be asked if I want to continue - maybe then I can choose Paypal instead. :)

Also I still like the idea (if possible) choosing x amount of years. I'd like to at one point make a contribution for say the next 2 years right off, or up to 5 max, since anything more than that might just be pointless:p
  • 1 Year $35
    2 Years $75
    3 Years $105
    4 Years $140
    5 Years $175
Seems perfect.

If you want to contact me offline, I'm happy to setup something up manually for you. We'll consider it was a future option if there's interest.

Thinking about it now, would there be interest in a "Lifetime" option?

That does sound intriguing - Since you are essentially the owner you just have to figure out the amount for a lifetime subscription - I for one am interested. Perhaps we can put this to a vote? Other members should have the opportunity to decide on that :)
