No Specific Sub-Forum for Kali?

I've looked, and could not find one. I wonder if there is a specfic reason for this, a lack of interest, or what?

my guess is that a lot of whats on kali such as metasploit is also readily available on other distros .

The objective if i'm right in my thinking is basically for hacking , i mean security testing and
thats also possible from otehr distro.

Whereas the objectives of other distro is slighly different

and so use of metasploit is put into the generalized forum of security I guess (i haven't looked)

probably the likely answer is its based on a form of debian , so wouldn't that cover most things ?

Also, are you volunteering to man this proposed sub-forum for Kali Johnny Faster? Count me out in any case...

The OP has a point, we do get a lot of posts here about Kali.

Unfortunately the majority of such posts are made by people who do not need to - and should not be - running Kali, and I imagine that's the reason for the absence of a sub-forum.

And the potential consequence of having a sub-forum for Kali is that we get a LOT more questions from people that should not be using it in the first place. Which would only make things worse, plus the fact, most members from what I see would not be inclined to answer questions from people that are kidding themselves/using Kali when they don't have the required experience, and/or are trying to use it for purposes other than pentesting.

There ARE members here that do use Kali, but I don't see most of them willing to waste their time helping someone that hasn't got a clue what their doing to begin with, and/or who for whatever bizarre reason wants to play games on Kali, or whatever else that's not pentesting related. Particularly where you're talking about people who are clearly just script kiddies, that want to be "cool". Plus the fact a lot of Kali posts are one-post wonders anyway - they post, realize they ain't going to get puppy walked through cracking a system they've got no chance of cracking to begin with, then disappear anyway. What's the point? Someone like that doesn't really want to learn anyway, it's pointless.

It's a bad idea to start a sub-forum and encourage more pointless Kali posts.

Not so much a lack of interest as a lack of need - the people who want to use it for its intended purpose are already aware of the official forum, those who don't just need to be directed there.
