No Images loading in browser?

For the last couple of days when I visit LQ, the images for the site either don't load at all or a few load and then they stop (the vertical Thawte ad on the right side of the page always loads). It always seems to stop loading with the message 'Transferring data from m2.doubleclick.net' or 'Connecting to images.linuxquestions.org' or 'Connecting to ads.linuxquestions.org' in the status bar of Mozilla. But there is no data being transferred.

I thought it may be a problem with Mozilla, so I cleared the cache, restarted Mozilla and had the same problem. I'm getting the same thing now in Opera, and even in Dillo.

This is a mere nuisance on the main page, but when I try to go to the forum page, it only loads the top half, then freezes while it waits for the images to load. So to get to this forum, I had to start loading the page, then hit the Reload button and then quickly hit the Stop button just to see the full page.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Enjoy!

[edit] This is crazy. I tried rt-clicking where the row of penguins graphic should be at the top of the page and copying the image location, then pasting that url into Dillo, and nothing loads. I don't seem to be having this problem with any other sites. [/edit]

The images/ads are served from a server outside of Jeremy's control (I believe) - I get this problem from time to time and there is, unfortunately, not a lot Jeremy can do about it.

images.lq is within my control, but the ad server is not. Are you still having a problem?

Hey Jeremy,

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Went out of town for the weekend and just got back last night to try it out. So far it seems to be working. I'll post back if there are any more 'issues'.

Enjoy!
