Newbie Guidance on LinuxQuestions.org
This site is so enormous that I get lost. Sometimes I just scroll around and learn some things and sometimes I'm able to find what I'm looking for but that's doesn't happen as often as I would like. I probably should study the 'advanced search' more, but that brings me to two questions.
1.) Does anybody have a way that they search on this site that might help me?
2.) Can people post their 'favorite' thread that they think newbies like me can just generally learn about Linux and LinuxQuestions.org?
The reason for this is two-fold. One being that I've actually wondered some of this and two is I need to post for the LQ Merchandise Giveaway. Either way I hope no one thinks I'm being lazy.
1.) Does anybody have a way that they search on this site that might help me?
2.) Can people post their 'favorite' thread that they think newbies like me can just generally learn about Linux and LinuxQuestions.org?
1) Depends on the topic. if it's something to do with a Server for example, then I go through a few pages of the Linux Server forum first before using the search tool.
2) Not sure if there's one specific thread. Different questions etc. are handled in different threads.
Overall the search tool is a good tool to use, as well as google. Often I find something here in this forum when running a search of something specific through google.
