You are a much more principled person than I am because I've never cared that much about those things. I respect the decision for sure.

Don't overlook the fact that people are extremely busy and time is almost always in short supply. The easiest way forward may have been the switch to discourse. Also maintainers get bored with the same old sign
posts going by as they progress on a project. The linux kernel changed the versioning based partly on the idea that the numbers were going up too slow, made it seem like they were'nt going anywhere. It's a perception issue sometimes and maybe Philmanjaro just want something new to look at.

And don't think just because a project is opensource that it's also a democracy. Some of the best projects have a dictator. But usually they are not really dictators and rely on a few others who's opinions they value. But they do often have the final word. Otherwise the bikeshedding will go on until we all are dust.

So thanks for that tip.
excuse me, but can you show me please?
dillo doesn't do javascript, and discourse doesn't work without javascript.
i can't login.
yes, i can still see some text, but calling that "better and more compact" is like saying "don't use a browser, just look at the documents directly by downloading them with wget. it's better and more compact."

I'm really not a big fan of discourse at all.
duh?
why did you start this thread then?
and are still the only one that voted for discourse on your own poll?

By the way. I just don't just use Dillo to browse this forum on my IBM T23 Pentium 3 laptop.

As you can see. This forum also works on a Terminal/Console based browser I use also.

This site's software works fine. I vote no because if it's not broke, don't trouble it.
