new [quote] style
I find the new way of quoting quite annoying, can we bring back the old way of just using "

The quote implementation here has not changed in many many years. I'm not sure what you mean.

Did it used to be "

btw is there a way to turn off code enterpretation? all i see is a radio selection for "normal mode" or "enhanced mode" on the left, and "vb code is on" down the bottom. |
Well, since the new and improved site is likely to be released later this year, there seems little point in changing the coding on this version.
And the current quoting method has, as far as I can recall, been around since I joined the site. |
the current quoting? so it was always like the example in the link? I was so sure it wasnt..... i need sleep.... or coffee....

Yeah, I hadn't noticed a change in the quoting "style" either..
I'm looking forward to the new LQ :D. |
a lot of "other" forums (shh shh, hush hush ;) ) use that style of quoting.
however, I've never noticed a change here at LQ. One reason why it is annoying is if you want to do some DIY quoting (not using the "quote this" function) - but of course you can say: Quote:
anyway. titanium_geek |
FWIW, we'll be moving to a [quote=name] system with the upgrade.

will you still be able to just have [ quote ] without the name attribute?
looks like it wasn't a dream of the past, but a prediction! :) titanium_geek |
Wow! In my sleep deprived state, I could predict the future!!! Yeah, anyway I like the [quote=name] way better, for use with DIY quoting, as titanium_geek said. <--- would have quoted this, but....you know....
