i answered this thread yesterday at the time specified in the post header, and I'm sure it was the first reply. about 14 hours later I recieve an email that s.o. has replied, so far so good. But now the other guy's post is placed as the 1st reply to the original post, only 1 hour after the original post had been placed. Since we both say more or less the same, this looks fairly stupid. how can that have happened? could it be he opened the reply at the time specified and sent it at the time I recieved the mail? it's no big deal, but something looks wrong there. *confused* Michael |
1) it doesn't look "stupid" - in fact the asker got a nice selection of info.
2) I have replied to threads before and not seen previous replies until after I posted. that's really odd that you think you got bumped though. I don't think it is a major issue, but odd none the less. oh yeah- have you looked through the bugs? edit: the 14 hour thing is because LQ does email at regular time intervals, not as it happens. The other guy had posted 4 hours before you, according to the site. /edit titanium_geek |
i'll look through the bugs and file it if it's not listed yet.

This actually wasn't a bug. The post was originally set to pending (which means not viewable to a member) and then approved at a later time. This happens to a very small percentage of first posts for a member.
