trickykid, I agree with the numbers you posted, but hasn't the number of 1000 posters slowed down some since General was deleted from the post count? There are some posters with high numbers that I have not seen here in awhile. The boards will change as peoples lives change. I agree with Proud that 5000 is a bit too high. I could have over 1000 posts by now, but by choice, I have not been a post whore, like we have seen in the past. To me, the post count does not matter, how someone answers questions or gives suggestions makes more of a difference.

Here's my comments on this. I would agree that post count itself it not important, it's the quality of the posts that matter. That being said, by that same token user title shouldn't be overly important. Additionally, your title still does change at 1000, just to something different.

I completely agree it's the content not the count which matters to LQ, and I guess members will have to look at it as though retirement as an LQ/Guru isn't virtually guaranteed now, but more of a rare occurance.

IMO I like the idea of usertitles & post counts available for public display only for paying members or people who moderate/run the site.

Yeah, I don't care how many posts I have, I care much more about the quality of the posts and how helpful they were. That's why I barely have over 170 posts as it is. Really, for someone who has been here for two and a half years I'd think I'd have more by now. Suprise, I don't.

Jeremy,

I'm neither a guru nor an addict. Please change mine, also.

Thanks for the great help site! I had a critical attitude in the
past, but want to publicly say the changes are nice!

u can change it by setting the reset option on the user titles option in your user cp

user cp -> (either profile or options section) .. then scroll down till you see that menu option about what you want to be called, there should be a "reset" check-box there, click that then save it and it should change it to the new ones (at least thats what i did)
